FAQ

How do I split a PDF by file size?

Drop your PDF into the tool, enter the maximum file size in MB, and click Split. The tool measures each page individually and groups them into chunks that stay under your limit.

Is it safe to split PDFs online?

Yes. Most online tools upload your file to a server. Apparatus splits everything in your browser - your PDF is never transmitted anywhere. Safe for client documents, financial reports, and confidential presentations.

Can I split a PDF to fit email attachment limits?

Yes. Most email providers allow 10-25 MB per attachment. Set the limit to match your provider (e.g. 10 MB for most corporate email, 25 MB for Gmail) and the tool splits your PDF into parts that fit.

How accurate is the size estimation?

The tool measures each page individually to estimate sizes. Multi-page PDFs with shared resources (fonts, images) may produce output files smaller than estimated, so results will always be at or under your limit.

What if a single page exceeds the size limit?

If a page is larger than the limit on its own, it will still be included as a single-page PDF. The tool cannot split content within a page.
